a mate of mine as got a 1.6 sport with about 65k on the clock, the only mods are a full powerslow (powerflow) exhaust and a k&n induction kit, well these are only the mods we know about as he only bought the car a few months ago from some guy in a pub,he never said if any other engine work had been done, the car seams to run normal and is not lumpy at low revs so can we rule ok cam work,he took it on a mobile rolling road and he got a figure of 130bhp at the wheels,i keep telling him its bollox as mobile rolling roads are never accurate and also you would not get 25bhp from a exhaust and filter,if the rolling roda was accurate what would need to be done to acheive this figure.
cheers

er.. 130WBHP? the car only has 106BHP at the fly when stock...
i'm presuming that the inlet manifold is a standard item as you would deffo know if this was changed...
with an exhaust and k&n i'd say he'd be lucky to get 112BHP at the fly...

yes the inlet is standard,
thanks guys i wasnt 100% sure on the cars bhp figure from standard and i knew there was no way it would make 130bhp at the wheels with just those mods

plus power at the wheels of 130bhp would be approximately 155bhp at the flywheel
so thats a gain of about 50bhp as the standard 106bhp is the power at the fly, not the wheels
