Had a small accident last week, was driving along the m8 in Glasgow doing roughly 80mph, and there was a lorry on the inside lane, a car was coming down a slip road to join the motorway and i was in the outside lane, the lorry was travelling at about 50/60 mph and nearly hit the back of the car joining the motorway, so changed direction sharply into my lane without using and indicator and i went into the back of it after beeping my horn profusley and flashing the lorry diver he made another shap manouvre at the next roundabout and fcuked off, knowing full well that i had hit him, now im left to foot the bill, and i reported it to strathclyde police but they didnt seem very bothered, i gave the reg of the lorry aswell but its been nearly a week now and no1 has got back to me.
what should i do?
here's a pic off my fone, it isn't the greatest, but the damage is: Bumper, headlight, headlight bracket, wing, and bonnet has a dent too,

that sucks dude. as for the police mate, bear in mind that they would have to contact the company then check who was driving on the day etc so it will take time

don't want to sound off but what are you expecting them to do about it?!
you've just openly confessed that you were speeding and they'll say you should have left more space ... sucks I know but you'll probably just have to repair it yourself

tbh the lorry driver might not have known he was hit ... he might have just thought it was damn close and that the corsa behind was beeping to tell him that
i was in an arctic lorry on the m8 sat in once and we were listening to the radio ... never heard or felt a merc that bumped us ... driver saw it in his mirrors when we moved off
... difficult situation i suppose

its a possiblity. but more likely didnt like the idea of getting a bollocking. just keep pressuring them. one of the guys i work with got smacked by a foreign lorry driver and he drove off. got the reg and eventually got the company to pay out 2 months later!

just think if you had been doing the speed limit that would not have happened

If thats all the damage to your car, i wouldn't think the lorry driver would have felt a thing.
A bloke i work with had a car hit him at about 30mph while he was waiting at the lights, it didn't even spill his cuppa tea.
Did you get the reg of the car that cut the lorry up as they also need reporting.

I would have to agree, a 44 tonner doing 56mph would not feel a car hitting the back at similar speed. Maybe a small bump but chances of them realising it was a car is slim.
I hate to put it this way but because you hit the back of the truck the blame will almost certainly point to you even though as you said he swerved into your path, he will say he had to swerve to avoid collision with other car so fingering blame would be near impossible

it was a 7 1/2 tonner, and it would have felt it, and judginh by the way it took off, away from the motorway he defo felt it and wanted to get away, im just trying to find out 2day if its registered to a company or hire firm cos by law they'll have to tell my insurance company that drove it,....
and even if i was doing 70mph it would still have happened cos it was such an irratic lane change and i had no time to stop
