you'd be surprised mate, I work for ntl and there's still loads of area's which aren't broadband capable (not just with ntl) but with most ISP's. ADSL will only work if your telephone exchange supports it and your close enough to it, Cable will only work if your close to a headend and your area is cabled up enough underground so many remote areas have the option of satellite internet which is wayyy too overpriced right now, i get customers everyday still wanting to modify or put them on dialup packages!

its about 50/50 in households. Just over 8 million broadband users, just under 8 million dial up
