just got this lot off a m8 with a screen...says i have wat i need to put ps2 in car....can u explain wat it all is and where it goes lol

Cant quiet make out first pic - Little dark
Second pic is the connection for your battery terminal (AMPED connection)
Third pic looks like the rest of your amped battery terminal connection
Fourth picture is a switch (Same as used with footwell neons) To turn power on to the converter in the last pic
Cant make out fifth pic
Last pic = converter. . plug PS2 in one end, connect others to switch . . switch to bettery. . . PSE to monitor. . . wire up monitro - and away you go!!

the box on 5th pic says fm modulator on it? whats that for?

An FM modulator is used to convert the audio signals from the PS2 (or other source with a phono out).. into FM radio signals that can be picked up by the tuner in your headunit.

Or simply just to modulate the frequency of the output. . . so that the TV can read it via VGA cables!!

Thats wrong. You wouldn't be modulating the tv signal to FM.
As said above its basically so you tune the ps2 sound into a station like 99.8 FM or similar.
Woudln't need that if your headunit has an aux in though.
