ive been thinking about buying a corsa gsi for a good while now. just been building uo my no claims on my sport first. but i am undecided now because ive been told so many different stories. people saying the engines arent the best and are liable to blow? my other car would be a 1.6 corsa, but dont see the point in this.
what do you peeps think about this?

Buy a 1.6 Sport and put the GSi kit on. Newer, lower milage car, nicer interior etc.
That's what I was gonna do if I bought another Corsa, and I still would.

ive had my Gsi for 3 years now and i still love it to this day, been through a lot with it and trust me mines got problems, BUT if you can find a really good condition one then its only worth getting!!
but its a 11 year old car now, will be quite rare to find one in A1 condition! but good luck mate all i can say is take your time and wait till you find a really good one!

I do. Don't like doorcards and seat trim, stearing wheel etc. in GSi's. Always looks 'old' in my opinion, so I'd prefer a 1.6 Sport.
It's just down to personal choice

gsi's are old though so interior is bound to look dated

Well i sold my corsa sxi back in May & bought a GSi the next day, managed to pick up a '94 L-plate C16XE under 75,000 miles £1600,
bargin all that needed doing was some rust on the rear & new cam lifters which i can get dirty cheap thats why i bought the GSi, but the 75.3bhp to 109bhp was worth it, still puts a smile on my face

I solved the problem of the gash interior by quite simply ripping the whole lot out
as for saying the engines are un-reliable... the 94-95 GSi's had the X16XE which is the same as the sport!
however... 2 gsi's now from very simple mods (exhaust and filter) both hitting 117bhp... 1 of which rolling roaded in 2 different places... chances of that
