a bloke at work's auntie is selling her xr3i for about £400

ive been told its:

F-reg
gleaming white (he also mentioned something about lead on the arches )
80k
FSH
recent engine rebuild by her husband who is a mechanic
2 previous owners

reson for sale is that shes bought a brand new discovery. im told its absolutely mint inside and out with no problems because her husband is fussy

does anyone know much about them and what goes wrong with them

it's a ford, nuff said

jk , don't like them really, unless it's been taken care of i would expect rust.

my mate bought one cheap, hes had a split hose thats all so far, pretty good for 300 quid.

thats a well gd price if its in that good condition and done that many miles! could quite easily make a profit on it i'd imagine.

there not worth alot, N/A version of the CVH os allwasy gonna play second best the the RST, Horrible Stering wheel, Spoiler, Body kit also

it seems a fair price problem is the XR3i always had poor residuals compared to the RS turbo.

Only enthusiats buy them today so they to sell for pittence.

My dad cashed one about 7 years ago and only got 1200 for it and that was pretty mint and all.

As what can go wrong with them?

CVH's ten to be tappy otherwise bulletpoorf engines
main concern on old fords were the body of the car.
check for rust in :
battery tray
inner cavity on models with sunroofs
arches
front turrets
and inner boot floor for rust as they have a habbit of rusting inside out

Should be punting out 105 BHP and do 60 in 9 secs and top out at 105mph post 90 models ran EFI oposed to MPI

im not planning on keeping it for long. just gona use it as a runner for when my car goes on ebay. then ill get a newer car and hopefully make some money out of the xr3 if its in good nick.

didnt think id ever buy a ford!
