You just have to have some control with ur money. I'm doing ok at the min cos i worked full time all summer, i don't run a car and i can't go out loads cos i've got a stupid amount of work to get done.

I'm not that fussed bout the student loan either cos i know i'll be able to pay it off ok and the payments are small anyway.

Have a look around. There are the rich students who can have what they want when they want, others that do ok and then some that are really skint and wear the same clothes all the time - hardly eat etc. Put yourself in one of those categories and stick with it for a few years. Trust me, you will get used to it.

I work over the holidays and earn enough to give me £200 a month with a bit extra if I need to and I get by just fine. That includes buying outdoor gear for my course like climbign kit (I do an Outdoor Studies degree). If you set yourself a budget and stick to it you'll be fine but if you just see all that money from your student loan appear in your account and spend it your fucked

that cant be as easy as it sounds.
for all the money u can take in as a student, your rent and bills alone are going to clean you out.
thats why i didnt do it when i was 18.

imo ppl at uni can spend as much or as little as they want so its there fault if they go into it... i'm gonna go into mine nicely but i know in the process i will have had one fcuking great time so it doesn't bother me in the slightest, i won't moan about it either as its my fault and i cudda stopped myself i'll simply come out and get a decently paid job where i'll pay it back or hopefully the company will pick up the bill.

people need to take responsibility more in this country, we have this whole "it's not my problem/fault" nature which is pathetic

fucking right I live at home 5 mins away from uni too, sod trying to buy or rent in edinburgh, way way too expensive. Looks like im buying a house in Boness soon

I work in Tesco through the week and weekend then DJ Friday and Saturday night. Usually means up untill 2am + doing course work though
I also prefer teaching myself because lecturers piss me off no resits in 2 years so I must be doing something right
