The best way to describe them is an automatic gearbox with manual gear selection. I can understand the concept - manual gear selection, but clutchless operation. However they are a bit hesitent in most cases and you begin to think why you have paid for an automatic gearbox that you still have to change gears on manually...

true, there is a fully automatic function, and the manual + and - gear changes.

there seem to be alot of corsa c's about with this gearbox, and didnt want to just dissmiss the option when looking to purchase

In my opinoin I would say it's a bit of a 'gadget' for kids to play about with... Saying that, the Tiptroic mode on Audi gearboxes is pretty good. Having never driven the Vauxhall version I shouldn't really comment

best thing to do then is for me to go and try one. ive seen a 1.4sri with easytronic £500 less than a manual version. when it was a £330 option! doesnt bode well does it

My mum has got one on her car, it's only a 1.0 12v effort though, when in 'auto mode' it tends to jump quite a bit when changing gear, and when you put it into manual selection its crap, iirc my aunties 1.2 is the same amount of dodgyness. If I were you I wouldn't bother.

For an automatic car they take a lot of driving.
I think they are a real drivers car and great definitely road test one greg.
You cant just ram it though the gears you have to lift and power to get a smooth change when in manual or auto mode.
Good fun I like!
