Gladstone was good, cost me £130 a night tho for a decent suite with B&B..first night I stopped over I stayed at the Formule 1 hotel..£29.95 but rooms were like a prison cell.

have a look at the International Inn - its a backpackers hostel by Hardman St
if all you need is a place to crash then it should be spot on

the one on the docks is good near the beatles museum, Think it was 50 quid for the night split between how many slept.
