I was having a look at the inlet on my 1.4 the other night and came across this solenoid thing! it had two holes in the base when i took it off one larger than the other and the larger one had a torx screw in it and it pushed in with a solenoid action! what the hell is it?? its on the top of the inlet manifold under the black inlet ducting!

humm i reckon its the EGR valve i didnt think these 8v's had one! obviously im wrong! what symptoms to these things cause when they go wrong?

basically ive got a acceleration lag, ive replaced the Lambda, the inlet manifold temp sensor (engine management one) and cleaned this so called EGR valve on the inlet. what else can i do? also i havent disconected the batttery lead yet should i do? the Engine management light hasnt lit up at all im just sick of this holding back the car does!

the holding back is the nature of the engine. the 12/14NZ engines are as useful as a washing line in Antarctica

it feels like its ran out of fuel then all of a sudden full power is back! i suppose im just not used to it after my sri gas flowed skimmed 4 branch stripped out lol! it made 2 litres seem watered down!

hmm ht leads are the only thing i havent done i suppose! also i notice since blanking off the egr valve theres an increase in 'black shite' in the exhaust! weather its to do with doing that or a timing/ignition related problem????? help!!
