Absolute disaster and made Alien just a average sci-fi movie. Therefore it never exsisted.

Its rumoured that Ridley Scott & James Cameron are going to create a Alien prequal which deals with the timescape between Alien Vs Predator and Ripley's first encounter with the Alien on LV-426

Showing how exactly the derelict ship came to its on on the planet and tie up the loose ends from AvP.
