Are track days covered by your standard policy? Do you have to apply for specialist insurance for the day or do you not need insurance on the track?

I hosestly wouldnt bother insuring an old XR2 for the track, theres loads of them kicking about so panels and parts are pretty cheap to get hold off. Most tracks do require any insurance, only that your car has an MOT and passes scruteneering. Track insurance is generally quite expensive and some places require an FIA license.

I dont think its so much fixing your own car if you crash, but if you run into someone else.

No you dont need insurance (depends on the track), sorry i ment that if you want insurance then you need to get a specialist insurer cos its not covered on your road policy.
