Cat D just means it has had a slight knock and is repairable

Cat D is nothing to worry about - if they have classified it like that that it SHOULDNT be hiding anything else, as it SHOULD have been inspected.

If its categorised at all then its written off. More difficult to insure, no real way of assessing the quality of the repair and worth less when you sell it.

Bargains to be had but be careful.

I've known people buy Cat D and fix up lock damage, ignition barrel etc. and they're fine. You might find one that has been driven normally to wherever it was left for stripping, but then found.

You might alternatively find one which has been chased by police and ragged over speed ramps and is bent.

Like I say, bit of a lottery.
