Just mark yourself an area of enough size, around 2 - 4 cm around the hole, mask it off, key the surface around it and in the hole, drop the filler build up just over flush of the hole, sand it back down so its all level, take your time with sanding to get it as smooth, flat and flush as possible. dont create too big an area to sand tho, or you will have lumps that will take forever to flatten.

Ive just filled a hole in my bonnet around 6 cm by 4 cm, as long as you prep it right, ur not trying to use too much filler at once you'll be fine.

1cm deep you should be able to do in one layer of p38 no problems.

give the area a quick light rough up with some 800 grit wet and dry just to be sure with the primer mate

If they are screw holes id suggest using some P40 instead of p38, and rubbing it down flat, more time consuming due to the sanding but it will be alot stronger and wouldnt sink
