Agree with John ^^
I'm 6/7 miles out as the crow flies, so prob more by road... I have to contend with morning rush hours like everyone else, including all those "real tax payers" sat there alone in their nice big saloons whilst I'm giving lifts to people and so making better use of my car's space on the road.

GTF SMB + STFU Antz. We pay road tax, insurance, and the costs of running our cars just like everyone else, why shouldn't we take our cars to university?

I live about 100m from the Uni. I have my car, which I use to drive to work. I pay tax, which is probably more than several on here. So GTF

I'm a student because I want a better job at the end of the day. And it really gets to me when someone posts stereotypical shite like that - you've been watching too much of "The Young Ones". Maybe if more people went through higher education this country wouldn't have such a problem with chavvy idiots who have nothing better to do than drink on street corners and break the bottles on peoples driveways.

uni doesnt get you a better job, unless your after some kind of doctors job or similar after then uni will do fuck all for your job prospects, a lot of my mates who graduates 3-4 years ago are still monkeying around tescos cus they cant find a job

real world what the fuck is that when it's at home? Does working 2 jobs and juggling full time education not construe real world skills to you? I guarantee you I have a more hectic life than you. Students arent 9 to 5 junkies that just go home and watch tv once the day is over. A lot including myslef do 9 to 5 then start work or studying etc etc. So dont give me your life skills pish
I have a car and drive to university every day, public transport is for idiots

Eh? So I was just as likely to have got a job in the vehicle design industry when I'd done my GCSEs as I will be when I graduate? Damn, coulda saved myself 6 years of A levels and university if I'd have known.

Depends what Degree you do. Do one thats a poor excuse for not having to go and earn a living for yourself, or that puts you into a field where theres 20 people who have the degree to do 1 persons job, then it's to be expected not to get a job quickly.
Also if they had any wits about them, they'd start working there way up the ladder in Tesco's: It's not what they want to do but there more likely to gain "real world experience" as you put it, as a manager of a department/store, than a rent-a-chip shelf stacker

I don't dislike student's with cars or stduents in general, I chose to leave education and get a job, and I have just as good prospects as most graduate trainees that join here although i'm a year older now i'm on a good couple of grand more than they start on, and am on talent frame work etc, so it's worked out nicely for me, but I don't hate people who join work straight from uni (i know people that do), saying that their is the occasional tosser who think's he has the right to look down his nose at you because you grafter for 5 years while they've been in uni
