Its a bit pointless IMO
DVD Player - Small screen, portable dvd players are much better
Mp3 player - ipod far superior
Internet - phone wap is better
Games - why when most people have a PS2 with better graphics and a bigger screen
Waste of money

might be a point to note it doesnt play dvds, plays umds which wont play in a dvd player.
battery is poo and games are shoot at moment.
plus with all the media influenced retards in this country who read into the hype its sold out in many places therefore its going for silly money on ebay and the like not worth it, wait till they drop the price in my opinion or people lose intrest after the chrismas rush will be cheaper second hand ones then i bet ye

i think he meens gprs not wap, and yes i agree my pda/phone is loads better with the internet full keyboard and its got wireless lan to. psp just had lots of gimicks throan at it to intice the casual gamer to buy it, or the style consious twat

PMSL think you are missing the point here mate...
Yes all the above does their own thing better than the PSP, but you get all that in one portable handheld console!
And as for WAP...
not saying i love the PSP, I won't be getting one myself (waiting for the 360) but to compare it against all those things is pointless

how can you say that, yes individual machines are better than elements of the psp, but its a complete system, can you blast round laguna seca on gran turismo 4 on your ipod, or watch full lenght movies on your mobile? (at decent size) or browse the net on your portable dvd player? doubt it...
and what about the homebrew stuff? you looked into that?

all hes saying is dont make the decision to buy the psp based on the merits of the extra's is does e.g dvd player, mp3 player ect fair enough it does them but tbh its not enough to warrant a purchase of the console, if you like the games fair enought buy it but dont let the other features persuade you or you will be disapointed.
yeah homebrew stuff is good, if your into old games ect, but then again i just find it funny that an awful lot of people who preech how good this system is just play old nes games like mario 3 on it all day lol

i was thinking of buying one to pass boring coffe breaks etc at work but only when they go down in price
Ive played one with virtua tennis on and it was ace 
the screen seemd quite big for the size of it and it was clear and hi res. and the games looked on par with PS2. So i think their good except the price.
