Its not gonna affect your insurance because it could have come standard on the car.

as a general rule of thumb just ring them and enquire each company varies from place to place and as Kyle pointed out it can be an optional extra from purchase as long as its GM branded.

doubt it would go up, best of ringing them as dna said, as some insurance companies dont even charge for mods
