Hey all,

If you get flashed by a camera, is there a certain time frame where the powers at be have to send you the fine?

Some people I have spoke to have said if you dont get a letter within 2 weeks then they cannot fine you?

I think I got flashed by a camera Monday 19th (coming up to 2 weeks) however I have not recieved anything..

Anyone know??

Cheers,

Pete

14 working days, unless car is registered in another persons name or company (longer process e.t.c)

Yes but you must have a N.I.P (notice of intended prosecution) within 14-28 days I believe....

Which if your caught by a copper, he'll give you at the road side.

then you have 6 months for the summons to arrive.

It was on a dual carrage way on the north circular...

So not a dangerours place...

Was at 12:30 at night..

Only thing that may have saved me was a huge london bus in the outside lane (cloesest to camera)

That may of blocked the view of the camera of getting me.

However if it could tell i was speeding and flashed, i guess it could get a clear photo of me..

NIP must be served on the registered keeper within 14 days of the time of the offence.

Summons (if it gets to that stage) must be issued within 6 months of the date of the offence.

These figures are LAW/FACT not just guesses like the majority of other responses.
