my cd writer on my tiny pc has broken, so ive been searching on the net for a replacement and cant seem to find an internal one that will fit. ive ordered a fairly cheap one which im hoping for now i can simply put in place of the normal cd drive (same size i hope), rather than in place of the cd writer as i dont use the cd drive much at the moment, im just wondering if its ok to do this as a temporary thing ?? (i cant quite afford an external cd writer at the moment btw)

Why do you say it won't fit? Even Tiny use standard size parts. Its just a fancy case, which if you remove the fascia you will be able to put a replacement drive in, and put the fascia back on.

the cd writer is the top of the two drives on my pc, and is really small, all the cd writers on the net are bigger and have volume controls etc underneath (like a cd drive) so they wont fit.

Are you sure its not just a fascia. I know two people that had Tiny PC's, and there was a slot that the draw slid out through. The fascia was on hinges though so you could get to the volume controls. Have you got any pictures?

Not so much the full front, but there should be a section that covers each drive. Behind that is a standard sized drive.

Yeah, just take the front off. I'm 99.9% that it will be a standard drive, in which case replace it with anything
