im working with this indian chappy and when he is on his mobile talking to another indian chap it sounds really dodgy/not a real language

im in no way being racist here it was just an observation of mine

its kinda low mumbles n stuff and thats him talking normally.. cant pick out a single word (not that i speak indian myself anyway)

I used to work with a POrtugese girl that would talk to her boyfriend on the phone constantly in portugese but end her sentances in english...I.E.

blah blah blah blah blah blah yeh about 2 o'clock.

blah blah blah blah blahblahget home from work

was very .......odd

Actually I think you'll find 'Indian' isn't a language - they have quite a few different languages in India and Pakistan - Urdu, Punjabi, etc. etc.

I only know this because I used to live in Slough and various official signs etc. are in about 10 different languages (mostly Indian/Pakistani ones)!

Quite right sam, my ex is bengali, I actually like hearing her and her mum talkin to each other in it, fascinating.

And it's also very melting when she talks in a cute way in bengali

which language, theres about 30 different ones in india and yea most of them are mumbles... just like the mumblin guy

when you are abroad and you're speaking to your family and friends(on the phone or face to face) you dont talk in the language spoken in that country do you? i know i dont.

i realise that english is the most commonly spoken language in the world but come on i think you're comment was a bit "speak before you think"
