Twice, technically...
First time in 1995, when I moved away to University......parents dropped me off there, helped me unpack, had a quick drink then left......Uni, great days, although I don't think my mum (or nan) appreciated leaving me in what could only be classed as a Victorian-style room (wooden-slat floors half-rotten, one plug socket, no sink in the room, a tiny antiquated kitchen, and one shower between 18 people per block).
Second time, 2003, when I moved into this place to be closer to work (I moved back home after Uni, couldn't afford to do anything else at the time), but when I got this new job in December 2003, I couldn't afford the 65-mile each-way trip to/from work every day, so looked at moving as quickly as possible......was weird moving into my own house on December 29th, didn't know anyone so just bought in a litre of vodka and saw in the New Year in a drunken pile on the sofa, watching TV! I think my parents more appreciated the second move-out, because it meant they finally had the house to themselves again, after all this time!
