Fog Lights on when it was foggy!!!

I was driving along, saw police car in front so switched neons off (in car, but I know they dont like it), put my front windows down as they are tinted. Got to traffic lights, and the passenger door opens. I just knew they were going to come over. Sure enough this big dumb looking copper walks over "turn them fogs off!

It was Saturday night, early hours was picking up my mates from a club, and the fog was stupidly thick. Wanted to argue, but seeing as I have clear non e marked lights as well as tints I decided to do as I was told.

No wonder the police get a bad rep.

Why would the police stop you if it wasn't foggy?

i was driving round with my fogs on early evening the other night - just getting dark, and a police officer in a police van just opened his window as we we're both stood in traffic - he was going the opposite way - and just asked me to turn them off..... which i thought was fair - given that i could have been fined for it.

I thought fogs are for people to see you rather than giving you better vision

I only put my fogs on when I can't see any further than the car in front of me.

Or if I'm driving at night time in dark country lanes at stupid o'clock and CBA to put my high beam on.
