Me and the G/f bought her a new car a few weeks ago. A Fiat Punto Active Sport (This is a serious thread so no comments on the car )

Anyway

Highway Code 223
All vehicles must display parking lights if parked on a roadway at night with a speed limit greater than 30mph

Punto Handbook.

No external lights will operate if the keys are removed.

So this means she cant park on any roads other than a 30 or she has to leave the keys in the car.

Is any other new cars like this, or would I be right in saying that the car is not fit for the purpose it was sold (Ful Refund Please)

i dont know if thisis right but does the ignition key go 1 more turn forward and then remove the key leaving the lights on. ive had cars at work that do this and it took a while to figure it out. i was taking the key out in the normal way then realised it could come back a bit. hence take key out , no lights.

Give that man a cigar.

Just checked and you turn the key forward whilst pushing button A.

is there a button by the barrel that you push and the key goes back once more putting the side lights on and enabling you to remove the key?

Technically it would be you who is breaking the law as you would've parked your car illegally.

I would sell both cars as much as i like the MG, i think your on a road to a hiding with it as you'll either never stop spending money on repairs or never have it because it's in the workshop gettin recalls/ewarranty work done..

Also have you had the recall done for the door trim? Antifreeze? theres about 20 different recalls alone for the 25/ZR and 45/ZS

Also the punto's a Fiat you could have got a ford Ka cheaper which imho is more reliable and safer....
