New ones work the best

I flicked one lightly at a car window once and it shattered. It was only a small piece about the size of a finger nail. Quiet too till the window started falling in

break the white porcelain/ceramic off the spark plug and throw at glass. Works on bus shelters and car windows the best.
Not sure how it works something about the charge in the material?

Yeah - pikeys are always searched to see if they have bits of spark plugs on them if they look suspicious. It means they are on the rob

Ceramic is so hard that it just takes the glass out

It's not the hardness of the material I just flicked very lightly a piece at an abandoned car when I was about 11. It shatered. It was no harder than tapping the window lightly with your nail.

Very easily. If a material is hard it is easier to break than a more ductile material.
