Mk1 is the better shape in my eyes, in white with 17" minilites and widearch kit, stripped interior, cage, zetec on tb's and you have my favourite car
make it bubble arches, 15x8 MLs and a 220bhp+ XE and im sold

just got back from a quick scan over and test drive.
he showed me the rust which is a couple of 50p sized holes. one next to the drivers seat and one in the boot by the wheel well.
probably only about £50s work, but i guess if it's started to come through in those places then some more may follow shortly behind.
no carpet or anything because he junked it after removing it to inspect the floor. back seats are gone, but the fronts are ok as are the door cards.
it drives pretty nice, although it's loud and not that fast. brakes seemed ok, and everything worked (horn, lights, wipers)
temp gauge apparently sits at around half way even in traffic, and it doesn't leak oil.
someone else turned up for a look as we were getting back, so i let him know i was interested and said i'd call tomorrow.
i'd make an offer, but dunno if he'd want to wait out the auction.

i stumbled across turbosport the other day, and yeah it looks like theres loads of usefull info on there.
that white one is amazing. i'd really like to own something like that one day. even without the forest arches i still love the shape of 1's and 2's.
if i got it i'd gloss black and diamond cut the wheels, black rs quarter bumpers and generally tidy up all the outside first once it was on the road.

just noticed it's on ebay at the moment, currently 315

i'd go up there now and make an offer if i had a garage or somewhere to store it.
Go for it, I promise you won't regret it.
They're the work of an automotive genius
My first car was Diamond white 4 door 1300L MK II and I loved it.
Still miss it even though I got through five gearboxes a diff and a propshaft - massive standing starts are not the friend of standard hardware
I would still have her, but when your car gets hit three times in 13 months - once in the side by a Starlet, once in the front wing by a dustcart, and once up the back by an arrogant bald c*nt in a Renault 25, you have to know when to cut your losses and give up on the poor old girl
Best fun you can have with your trousers on and I still definitely want another - once i've cleared my debt next year and found a clean one I will be buying what i've wanted since I first saw Doyle sideways when I was four - a white RS 2000

no.
i relly wanted it and to be honest should have made an offer when he took me out, but because someone else turned up to have a look, i left and said i'd call him back.
was following the auction this morning and it went for 494, i just didn't quite get my last offer in in time.
i'vbe emailed the guy though and said that if the sale falls through from the guy that won the auction then i'd have it off him.
might keep an eye out now for a 2door mk2.
