Can anyone recomend a good one?
Been looking at Men's health forum for abit but noticed a few misinforming posts recently, wanted to find a more informative, stricter forum that could help me?
Used a heart rate monitor at the gym today and realised how unfit/shit my heart is! Knocking on 80% of my heart rate on a really steady jog

I was trying to keep under 75% of my MHR which i worked out as 150bpm. Using the 220 - age divided by 100 x 75. Just for a steady cardio workout over a long time. Anyway i was running at 7km/h which is fast walking/jog pace and i was hitting 165bpm.
Did 5k in about 35 mins but i ended up doing quite abit on 12km/h this lead to 180 ish BPM.
also when i had done it took ages for it to drop down, another sign of how shit my heart is!

try these

I find mens health forum good but as u said some posts r a bit misinformative but judging from u doing mainly CV i'd have to say u'll find it hard to get a forum the majority are on muscle buiulding and bulking as its more complex than just CV getting on the treadmill .etc
u tried chatting to an instructor in the gym?

Cheers, I've decided to concentrate on the CV side as i feel its more important than body building. Not talked to any of the fitness Instructors as most of them are shite (i'm qualified to be one but to basic level like most at the gym i go to). Although there is one who knows what he is on about so i might have a chat with him. I'd rather get a few opinions on things though as there are always confliting opinions about, when its to do with fitness, so i'd rather hear both sides and then pick my own path.

aye tbh i'd say ure best bet if ure in it for general fitness is to focus on ure CV but integrate into it 20/30 mins on weights each session (i dunno how long u train for but i suspect about 2 hours ish so 3/4 CV 1/4 weights) and do lighter weights but with more reps to increase endurance and tone

i only train for about an hour as I used to do mainly weights. Think i'm going to try and do 3 sessions of cardio a week split with 2 weights sessions. Maybe do an intense leg work out on the second weight day and then have a steady cardio session day after.
does that sound any good?

doesn't sound to bad, when i'm next in the gym i'll have a look how my programs laid out and right it up its a nice mix between CV and weights based mainly on achieving core strength, endurance and fitness
