raffles, sponserships, write to companies asking to donate stuff. ask round work to donate stuff etc
make up flyers, ring local radio stations, ring local newspapers

Thank you. I have just drawn up some sponsorship forms.
I'm going to try and raise around £3,000 to pay for a mini bus for the elderly who suffer dementia. These people are absolutely ace, they need the bus so we can take them out on day trips etc... Plus i will get to drive the bus
I have a few idea's with what to do for the actual fundraiser and I'll be discussing with other staff what idea's they have.
Some good advice there Graham. I'll try get some flyers made up, get in touch with a local radio station/newspapers

no probs, i help organise them at work you see.
we get costumes though, walk around the retail park shaking the bucket etc.
for £3,000 why not do a sponsered channel crossing swim, or bike ride from one side of the country to the other

The bike ride from one side of the country to the other sounds interesting. How would I be abe to organise such a big event though?
I was thinking about doing a load of little events such as a 20mile run in a giant sunflower (as the firm is called 'the flowers') and other mini events when I get back to uni like 'a pound a hug' type of thing.

yeah either one, with a big one, start by planning the trip, ie. how long is it really, draw maps up of where you would be going and how far, take this with you to show the sponser.
just come up with loads little ideas too, maybe get some friends etc
