girlfriends got herself one of these cars Fiat Bravo SX, N reg an its clunkin like a mofo she's been told that it is the Tappets

any one had this problem before? i thought about tryin to fix it myself but it sounds quite hard ie taking the wing off just to get at them.

what would a garage charge to sort it out then?

did try puttin some oil in it, but that didnt change a thing

Put a pot of engine flush in, run for 15 minutes, drain oil. Top up with fresh new oil and that should cure it.

engine flush
oil and filter change

what engine is it. if it's hydrolic tappits then try an d engine flush if its mechanical it may require new shims

it flushes out crap from the engine and helps to stop sticking valves. put it in the oil idle for 15mins then remove oil and do an normal oil change. I need to do it to mine later
