What would you consider a 'decent' mileage to be for a car that's 5 years old.
I'm thinking anything under 40 would be a bonus. 50k is probably more realistic though.
Any thoughts?

68k is quite high
Thing is I could spent say £500 more and get the same with about 23,000 Just a case on whether I can afford it

yep 68k is high but i do alot of miles a year.remember though the average mileage over a year is 12k so on older cars the chances are the mileage is gonna be higher unless some old grannies had it

thanks for the input lads, think It's worth paying slightly more and getting something with less mileage to be honest.

IMO no - as long as an engines been looked after 10000 miles shouldnt make a difference - infact u could get a lower mileage car which is shagged
My 1.2 8v will hit 110 000 this summer- btu it runs perfectly - not a problem with the engine at all - whereas another I tested the other day had half the mileage, in essence was same car but a bit newer - but it was shagged- drove like a bag of spanners

6.5 year old, 86k..
Corsa was 11 years old and on 98k.
Both are/were going strong. Depends on the type of car/engine size and how well it's been looked after really.
