Bascially I want a new car.

Ive found something which is just what i want.

I've got the money to go and buy it now if i really wanted to!

But ive got mine to get rid of. Do i just go for it and but the new one and worry about later of get rid of mine and then look for another one?

whats stopping you?

You buy the new one, you drive the new one while the other one sits on your drive waiting for some unlucky bugger to come buy it.

Only problem I can see is when you switch over the insurance, getting rid of the other mr2 might be rather hard if no one can test drive it.
