Have you defraged your hard disk, run anit spy ware and virus programs recently, or cleared the page file.

All contribute to genrally slowing down big memory processes like that.

How much space you got on your hard disk left?

A Page File is used by Windows as additional temporary memory. When the computer runs out of RAM (Random Access Memory) it uses the page file on the hard disk as an additional storage area. This is sometimes referred to as "Virtual Memory". The Page File can contain sensitive information (eg. user names and passwords). The file is not cleared by default on Windows Shutdown

goto

Start > run (type "regedit")

follow to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSesssionManagerMemory Management

then
Select ClearPageFileAtShutdown from the list on the right.
Right click on it and select Modify.
Change the value to 1 to enable.
Reboot your computer.

go into your device manager, and delete the primary ide controller, then the second controller, then the master controller, and then restart (click no so you dont restart between each one)

that will sort out the PIO mode issue if its the problem
