If I had one wish, I would make Jeremy Clarkson prime minister!

"As we know from America’s arrival into the second world war, their concept of “on time” differs slightly from ours."

"But there were also rumours of the supercharged V8 pumping out 550bhp and a mountain of torque so massive it was breaking the testing equipment. So I didn’t mind."

"But set against this is a surprisingly quiet and civilised ride. It’s like a power station. Silent, as it gets on with the job of brightening up your life. "

"Herculean power "

"This time I rang Ford and explained that I would personally come over there and insert the whole car up the chairman’s backside if it wasn’t fixed."

"I genuinely believe that some machines have a soul and I can’t bear to think of my Ford sitting in a warehouse now, unloved and unwanted."

"But I have never profited from my position as a motoring journalist. And I never will."

The blokes just simply a legend.

On the Astra SRi

"Quite apart from the fact that it’s a Vauxhall Astra, which has the social appeal of herpes"

"This, you see, is a fabulous piece of design, as handsome and as “right” as any Ferrari. If Aston Martin were to make a small three-door hatchback, it would look like this. "

Did you hear him on the weekend.
"How fast has anybody been in the Eurotunnel train?" (nails the accelerator on a 600 odd BHP super car).

on the new Astra SRi

"It’s robust, too. On one journey I put all three of my children on the rather cramped back seat — it is a coupé so the lack of space isn’t a complaint — and went for a little drive. It took only five minutes for the fight to begin and 10 minutes for it to become a full-scale war. But impressively, none of the trim broke."

He kept taking the piece of shoot back to ford, and they kept telling him its fixed, this isnt your average car, it cost 128,000 and when u are told something is fixed, u expect it to be fixed, i would be pretty pissed off if tracker kept phoning me telling me my car was stolen when i was sitting in it!

I know thats fair enough but I was just saying if you can afford to spend £128,000 on a car you've wanted for as long as he has, you'd think he'd open up his tight ass and change the alarm system if thats his only problem.

I also know for that money he shouldn't have to. But come on if something like that was stressing me out that much i'd just change it.

Agreed with Jason, rip the fucking thing out and fit a nice TOAD, with RAC tracker or something FFS if that was the only thing wrong with it and had payed that much, I'd have sent the bill to Ford!!!!

Jason, you have to think though, you have a future classic car in your hands, and changing it in ANY WAY from standard is going to ruin its future prospects. Also, there would be warranty issues with Ford if you start changing major components i suspect
