Her name and the fact she has recently got points is enough. As we've already discussed, I don't think the conviction is based on forum posts alone. That would only be your invitation to the station, the interview would certainly bring out other facts.

i agree, its just scaremongering IMO. There is no way they could use what you write in an internet forum as evidence, you could just claim that someone 'retrieved' your account details and pretended they were you. Or could just be bullshitting to make yourself look bigger in the monitors reflection.

May open a can of worms here but I'll give my view anyway.

I think the thing that pisses people off about this is the fact it (Or I would anyway) would class this as a petty offence.

The fact there's scumbags all over the UK roaming the streets (And roads, without insurance etc) robbing houses, murdering people etc etc just pisses people off because the fact the police dont get their priorities in order.

Will this person (Or people) be sent to jail because of this? (Genuine question because I dont know)

I would personally rather the police tried to nail facts and proof onto scumbag peadophiles who sit in parks preying on children than trawling the internet for proof that someone took someone elses points and have them locked up instead.

Just my view on it, like ...

they wont get sent to jail, they have been told by solicitor that they'l prob get a hefty fine and community service and a ban.

although perverting the course of justice carries a maximum penatly of life

As Ian said in previous page, it was probably a number of things that led to the arrest, not just the forum postings.
