Yesterday went for a disasterous shopping trip to reading. On the way home on the A4 towards maidenhead, had a play with a clio V6

If anyone (ollie) knows the A4 from reading to maidenhead will know it is a very fast road but if theres traffic its a right basterd. I was chasing him, he couldnt get away, he seemed to have a more responsive power, but seemed to run out of it quite quickly. He was definately faster, but not by much

Handling was spot on tho, he went at least twice as fast around a roundabout as me

All in all good fun, couldnt see guys face, he then decided to overtake about 5 cars on a corner and i did not follow as im not an idot, otherwise wanted to try and get him to go on the Mway and have some fun

Phase 2 needed me thiks

I thought a v6 clio would have over 100bhp more than your car, fair play though

Just after Shepard House Hill? Past the Texaco in Charvil and along that bit up to Twyford?

Yes it is indeed fast road.

Clio V6 are very responsive power wise, I remember when one raped me and Lee Mitchell out of the Dartford tolls.

I would own one. Was it silver with clear rear lights? I saw one parked in Showcase Cinema when I was picking my tickets up.

Vibs as i said it was when there were a few other cars around had to overtake some people etc, so when we both got along side etc, id either be off boost fuck up my gearing or wed have to brake to avoid other cars etc.

Hard to explain, as this road it a mix of dual carriageways and big wide national speed limit roads followed by some slightly narrower ones

If we were on the motorway i would have faniced my chances a little bette,r still think he would beat me tho

Yeah they are lovely, such a presence on the road.

They are going quite cheap nowdays as well, Mk1 V6's for around £9k-10k

Can get early 172's for about 5k

I am as well, I was speaking to my mate who is a renault mechanic and he says when he drives the V6 he doesn't find them that fast, he drives a 172 and has tuned the engine to appox 198bhp and has 50bhp shot of NOS and his is faster than the V6.
It should of been fairly close the 0-60 speed of the v6 is around 6.4 seconds (if it was a mk1 model).
I personally wouldn't spend £25k on a v6 clio

V6s are lovely but really not that fast... agree with Ollies comment about presence though

BLoke round the corner from me has one and he REALLY struyggles to get it in and out of his drive

Remember CLarkson doing a tunring circle on a runway and going over the grass
