Err, the cable has gone slack (I know why) but I can't get into the engine bay to rectify, how do I open it from underneath?

or try and grip the cable from underneath the footwell with a pair of malgrips

just cut a vx220 bonnet vent into it so u never need to open bonnet again

You need to access the catch, I done a nova the other day, nice and easy with no grille on but you will have to get to the back of the slam panel or carefully unclip your grille

I'm not removing the grille, its in there rock solid as most Novas it pops out so I had it "fixed" in.

im going with disconecting the handle and pulling the cable with 2 sets of pliers
one ont the outer ho hold it and one on the cable

grab the slack cable with molegrips from inside the car. pull slowly but hard whilst someone puts pressure down on the bonnet by the catch. should pop up.

jack the front up, get your hand up underneath find the catch and push it just as the cable does and it will pop it up

pull or push im sure i had to push mine on the corsa the other week! Depends where you can get your hand in i guess.
