sold my mate a screen for his corsa the other day, when i took it out my old car a month or 2 ago, it worked fine,as far as im aware it was ok unless it fucked itself in the garage (air conned so no stoor ect) told him to let me fit it today but he fitted it yesterday wiring it behind the cigarette lighter, using the brown / black wires behind there. As far as i know i nthe corsa the black is the positive and the brown earth, this is how i had it, and tested his wires today with a neon... Now he wired it up the opposite then came back and complained its fucked and he wanted his money back, bringing round folks to kick me in ect ect, sold him it for 40 quid, wee centurion screen, when he came around i re wired it the other way (behind the cig lighter, ignition off) it still didnt work, as he used no inline fuse ect before as i reccomended and wired it the wrong way whats the chances that is what fucked the screen???
so i said if he gets it looked at by an ICE expert and its found out it was fucked by bad wiring its his fault and if it ws just generally fucked then i would give him the money back, but that started a big argument ect ect and i thought this was me trying to be fair.
then to top that all off, he was halfway home and suddenly his power steering (corsa b) and speedo stopped working and the engine management light came on, then he phoned me give me a mouthful saying i fucked it (by wiring stuff up at the cig lighter) (odds are a belt snapped but whenever i tried to say anything he told me im getting kicked in and hung up???) or maybe a blown fuse, ulikely, and again nothing to do with me if it was halfway home
there is some members on here involved but im not naming any1 to start hassle, just want some opinions or solutions,,
help !

its 6 am at the moment and im wasted so this could be very very wrong:
i dont c how he could have wired it wrong. its 2 wires and as uve said they were the right way round and stuff. when was the last time u tested it before it went in his car? test it back in ur car to make sure.
when i was fitting a screen richie told me i didnt need a fuse cos it used silly low power, unless i really wanted a 0.001a fuse or something silly. so i doubt its that
as for the other stuff, power steering and that, hes just a chump. i no that doesnt stop him blaming and kicking u tho

Re-test the cig lighter, becuse even though he didnt use a fuse the cig lighter has a fuse which may now be blown
also about the threats go2 the cops if anything then happens you've already said there has been treatening behaviour

yuer, he wired it the 1st time the wroing way around meaning sending power through the negative, i know ive fucked the power supply in stuff doing that befroe

if he cant sort it out himself and has to get bigger harder mates to come threaten you he is just sad, over 40 quid n all. ive lost more than that out my poskets on a night out, didnt get my mates to beat the ground up for me though.
maybe im just old, but id rather settle things in a polite manner instead of a gladiator cage fight 6 vs 1
