I didnt realise they could do this.

My insurance runs out in September, and Im 19 in december.

would it be more cost effective to keep getting 1month cover until im 19, then getting a full year, as it will be cheaper once im 19, or is a months insurance relatively expensive?

^^^ They work it out from your birth date anyway... so it's factored into your individual premium that you'll be 18 for 3 months and 19 for 9 months of the policy etc...
