1st off RIP

Wondering what people think would have happened if his crash hadn't happened... do you think he would have gone on to win more titles?

I'll always think of him as an absolutely awesome driver Remember when I was about 4 watching him in the JPS Lotus winning at Estoril in 1985 I think it was in the pouing rain - also his 1st win i think? I was captivated even tho i was only 4 I'll always used to follow him... I always wondered how much longer he would have gone on and how he would have done against Schumacher... at the end of the day going into Imola Schumacher had 2 wins and Senna had 2 retirements!

What are peoples thoughts of him as driver? Those who are old enough to really remember him in like 88 and 91 etc You never get straight storys after someone has died :S

To be honest I always thought of him as a bit of a cheat, barging people off the track if it suited him somewhat similar to Schumacher now.

Obviously there is no doubting his ability or record and it's also worth remembering the cars were much harder to handle in those days, especially the old turbo, manual shift nutter machines.

Looking back it's pretty easy to see where F1 has gone wrong. I used to get up at 3am sometimes to watch headcases like Piquet, Prost, Mansell, Berger, Boutsen et al teaing around passing each other with Murray going mental, now all we get is smarmy Brundle (what the fcuk did he ever do in f1 except get a 3rd when everyone else crashed/broke down) boring us to death with fuel strategies.

F1 used to be awesome... What's all this crap they are going on about putting on a show for the crowds. It's not about that! It's about nutters driving about nearly, or in this case not so nearly, killing themselves for victory! Now it;s about money and pleasing Americans. Since when did the view of the yanks count? They should stick to skidoo racing over lakes (they actually do that over there) and monster trucks.

For me the greatest driver ever in my lifetime so far, to date, the only driver to take Eaux Rouge (Spa-Francochamp) without braking, Schumacher tried it a few times and just packed in.

I remember senna in the good old days, maybe if he was still here F1 would be worth keeping up with. Didnt they try and get Frank Williams done for giving him a faulty car or something? Its a real shame and i dont think people give Senna enough credit, I would rate him as one of the all time best amongst the likes of Fangio. I would also consider Schumacher to be an amazing driver but theres no competition these days, its all down to the car.

Even Senna couldn't spice up F1 in its current form, he'd do whatever it takes to win which today is more down to strategy than ability, he'd be overtaking in the pits like the others. the only solution is to do away with fuel stops and strip away all the driver aids. If you want to see exciting racing two wheels is where it's at.

senna was a god, to do a qualifying lap, drive back to the pits, put the visor up, stare down the opponent and his pit crew, and drive on to his pit, takes some balls, then still make all this stick the next day in the race, i would have liked to see him race schumacher, because he had falir and passion, as wekk as talent, Rest in peace my friend.

In response to your comment CorsaDave, about Senna not being able to spice up F1 today, I think he was the kind of person who would have left anyway, because his passion for racedriving alone was the only thing that made him sign a few for Williams in the first place.
