Just watched a programme all about 70's american muscle cars and how a legislation in fuel and emission levels signaled the end for the muscle car. It mentioned the GTO which was one of the big power cars which was discontinued after this. Then it mentioned the new Holden GTO/Monaro and how theyve just got it in america.

The general opinion was that it went like stink and handled really well but they all thought it was ugly!

GM have got their tuners, GM Performance Division to do a wide bodied version in keeping with the 70's cars and it looks pretty

yeh but with that power + torque think about how much quicker it be / how much better it would handle if they hadn't of made it so heavy.

Drive one.. You'll be pleasently surprised..

IIRC 336bhp with about 318lb/ft of torque fire in a Vortech Supercharger turn the boost to 15psi and you'll be pushing out 655bhp @7000 RPM on a Dyno..

The LS1 5.7 litre V8 GenIII found in the Monaro/GTO is tuneable to inexcess of 1000bhp as proven with the Corvette (same Engine)

Marc by any chance did the Show the Old School Holden Monaros?? i.e 1976 HQ Monaro with the 5.0 litre V8??

I drove one on Gt4 ... haha. Nothing like real life - but felt like a boat.

Though those holden's do race in aus - so can't be too bad.

I'm not saying they're quick cars, but just think of that power in something lighter. Plus fuel bills in something like that fuck that for a laugh.

Don't get me wrong - if someone offered me one I'd have it
