for a chip for my key from vauxhall, just getting new engine but oone chip. Need two as girlfriend drives car.

there not cheap
as you need to have the ECu and Immobilizer unit all matched....
be cheaper to try and find a second hand set where somone has fitted a 2lt 16v and has no need for it
what engine i may have a set knocking about?

its a 1.4 16v (X14XE), i already have the ECU, the thing that goes i the ignition barrel and one chip just need an extra chip for the second key

could i just get another chip from any 1.4 16v key or does it need to be programmed?

Someone should be able to correct me here but it's £45 per hour to programe the Key (takes about 10 minutes though and they charge youa full hour normally here) and another £60 for the key with the Chip... those are the prices i got from My local dealer although prices on Labour for Recoding may differ from dealership to dealership
