when buying new clocks, they show a different mileage, isnt this illegal though?

I only think its illegal if you sell the car without telling the buyer the real milage

as my car did 52000 miles at last one so wouldnt they mark it down at the 76000 miles that the new clocks say?

probobly would, but the mileage on the mot doesnt really matter unless you give all your old mot's when you sell the car. just take a picture off old dials when you change em, pic of new. document on bit of paper the difference then people can see why they are higher if you want.

or you could pull the new ones apart and click em round so they carry on where the old ones stopped? Could be tricky tho....
