Basically something bad happened today (Don't really wanna say on here)

I managed to get the first 4 characters of the plate, car, make, etc.

I went to the police any I had some loony bin saying he needs the full plate number! I would have thought the first 4 digits + make + model would be enough to narrow it down?

Surely their database system would be able to carry out this search!

Kind of wound me up, i felt like the prick was pulling my leg, he didn't seem too bothered about the incident either.

Did you explain what happened to the police?

Would have thought they'd at least write a report up with the details you have.

Car could still be about tonight and be spotted by police patrolling.

Well they did write up the report, and kept the bag as evidence for fingerprints.

But what i don't get is, why don't they track the car down, by searching the plate database.. surely the the first 4 digits with the model make, is enough to get a shortlist of cars/registered owners.

You'd have thought so.

So what happened?
