Will my original clocks 0 - 140 mph from my 1.0 12v work fine when i get my 1.4 16v engine fitted?

If it has a rev counter then the rev counter won't work...
It also depends on what gearbox you are fitting. If you are keeping the same gearbox you will have no problems. If you are changing gearboxes then you might run into trouble. Most 1.0 12v gearboxes I have seen have had Hall Effect sensors on them to calculate the speed, you might find that your new gearbox, if your getting a new one, was designed to use a Transducer or Cable driven speedo, if so you will need new clocks and cable/transducer for the speedo.

just wondering whether it would keep the speed the same or whether i would need to buy new clocks? My mate got a 1990 Escort RS Turbo engine fitted into his 99 mk5 fiesta and it worked fine.

yes will read the right speed its just weather yout clocks will plug straight in if not you will need another set
