if you report him under non paying bidder ebay will pay you back the listing fee and he will get a strike and they will let you re list it for free.

Lol, probably best just reporting him as a non paying bidder You have to wait 7 days to close the dispute but its worth doing, coz its well annoying when people do that!

I hate that too. It's like you've got my fucking money now give me the credit. they do it incase you leaev neg feedback then they will just do the same for you. That's why I've always not wanted to leave negative feedback as I get the feeling they will just leave it back or does ebay delete it or something?

however it is against Ebays policy for you as a seller to pass the PayPal charge onto the buyer....

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-surcharges.html

quote:
1. Electronic Money Services: Sellers who accept electronic money services as a means of payment for an item purchased on eBay, may not impose a surcharge.

Electronic money services include, but are not limited to, services such as PayPal, Nochex, FastPay or Moneybookers.

So in reality despite the fact that he is asking to pay in a way that you didn't advertise as an accepted method of payment - I doubt Ebay would refund any of your advertising costs just because the Buyer won't pay YOUR PayPal fees....

mind you if you ever get a decent 'non-automated' reply from Ebay customer services let me know.....

paypal wasnt posted as a valid payment option, so he had rights to ask for the surcharge

The auction doesn't mention taking PayPal, he needs to pay using an alternative method which is named.

You are under no obligation to take PayPal so really could actually ask that a fee to cover costs is levied - it wasn't part of the auction.

I personally accept PayPal as well as conventional means, an expect to suffer the fee. If you're going to be bent over for the listing fee, final value fee, you may as well lose another few pound when you get the money as well.

If they bank transfer its a bonus.

Either that or tell him pay or you'll neg him and file a NPB. Depends if you feel he will neg and your 100% is worth keeping.

thing is, i get charged about £4 ebay fees, and on an item like that, i get charged about another £4.50. I know its only £8.50, but its £8.50 that comes out of my pocket.

I dont see why i should pay paypal fees if it wasnt advertised. Im going to give him till tomorrow to reply, if he doesnt im going to contact ebay on what i should do.

My 100% is worth keeping, but im not going to be bullied into paying because someone else doesnt know how to use ebay
