on a serious note check out www.sbdev.co.uk if you've got very deep pockets and a stupid mind you could be looking at 250+bhp

be realistic....

these 200+ bhp 1.6 engine need rebuild quite alot..... valve gear takes one hell of a pounding at 9k+rpm

Are you using the GSi as a road car?

if yes - aim for a sensible 170bhp or so....

ARP rod bolts - 80
pocketed pistons - 500
Cams (270 or so) - 400
Verniers - 70
Throttle bodies - 1500
ECU (with TB kit) - mapping = 400
exhaust manifold - 300

my plan is

lexmaul inlet manifold-+20bhp
full exhaust system with 4 branch-+5bhp
courtenay head-+15bhp
ecu re-map to get it running puka

looking at about 40-50bhp on top of standard 109bhp that'll do me sound and its loads cheaper too

danny - its not quite as simple as A gives Xbhp etc

lexmaul will not give 20bhp either

but the figures are still at or around the listed gains a lexmaul inlet manifold with a courtenay head (big valve, ported, skimmed with uprated valve springs and cams to match) and a 4 branch will get the gases in and out efficiently and with a re-map the engine will be running sweet.

150bhp out of all that lot is easily achievable. and unless your taking it to the 200bhp mark you have'nt really got to worry about pistons, con-rods and cranks

matzel is better top end, i think lexmaul gives better mid range....

also have to consider this when your getting exhaust manifolds.... top end, mid? what are you after?

4.1 crown wheel and pinoion i think from a nova 1.3sr will see good acceleration but fuel econemy will be down, broster has 138 BHP with lexmaul raised rev limit re mapped ecu and 4-2-1 exhaust manifold. I dont think the lexmaul is compatible with the c16xe inlet system

Head unless a proper monday morning job once flowed wont give 15%
10% is closer to home, but a flowed head isn't the same as the next, it's only as good as the guy with the cutter.

Sensible mod list would be

headwork
264cams
raise rev limit
inlet manifold
tubular exhaust
magnex 2.25" system

that's about the best for a road car.

that spec will give you 130-140bhp, on an accurate no-bull shit rolling road, i have 138 with a similar spec but with cams aswell.... on the road you will be hard pushed to notice any difference between any inlet manifold.
