the side lap fastening straps where do they fix to the car i assume one uses the seats belt buckle fittng but the other?

I presume you mean the side closest to the handbrake? mine uses the same points as the seatbelts, but you dont have vx subframes anymore....is there nowhere on the cobra frames to take it?

nope the other side the handbrake side wud use that seat belt thing we struggled at getting in would it

it bolts just under the door you bellend on the original saetbelt point again. that sides easy

i bolted the left side (drivers seat) under the subframe and the right side i hooked on to the bar that the seatbelt slides on

im using the existing seat frame points, needs a wee bit of modification with a big hammer...... will get a proper mounting plate welded in soon tho
