well most XE's are around 12-18 years old now so obviously the sensors like AFM ICV etc tend to go a bit spastic, These are cheap and easy to change so wouldnt worry
I didnt rebuild my old XE before it went in and i did 1K miles a week in it...its only since rebuilding it its been unreliable

so your sayin if i get an xe, change the sensors on it. obviously i cant afford a rebuild.
this is instead of getting a new head on my 1.4

change things like cambelt and tensioners, water pump, clean icv etc, and you should be ok.
ive only had icv probs, it was seized inside. and ive had a new loom but thats it
