the chinease company have brought the right to the 75 and 25. thats all they wanted in the first place but rover messed it up for themself.

MG Rovers main problem for "potential" buyers is that it has stacks of negative goodwill from when it was bought for £10 back in 2000.... as x8john said - MG Rover is finished, that Chinese company has bought the rights to buy a few models but as far as I know its for the thriving Asian market and not the UK

Yup, like whats been said, there was quite a big article in Auto Express a copl eof weeks back, before it all went public. Shanghai Automotive planned to buy the rights to build the 75, 45 and 25, along with the plans for the K series engine. I think Rover tried to blag them into thinking the company was fine so theyd buy the rights and invest for future development, but it all fell on its arse, so SA pulled out to save themn a load of debt, and just but the rights on the cheap from the recievers.

TBH Rover should have tried to actually bring out a new model, even the new 25/45 are re-hashes of the 200/400 series that came out in 1995/6 FFS! To be fair though the 75 is a lovely car, my Gramps has one an its
