Well if your making your own why not but the PROPER FIA kit from Rollcentre and well it all up... MILES easier than buying tube, measuring, bending etc - their kit just welds up and into the shell.

depends if you want a 'proper' cage or just one for show. show ones will have the thicker diameter tubing

A proper one will prolly cost you about as much as a show one... Ive seen the alloy dimma half cages go for like £250/£300 whereas the FIA sparco/OMP ones are about that...
