fitted an after market rev counter to my mates ka last night, prob is it reads half what it should, why is this, even if i put a multi meter on it it read half what it should? wired it direct to the coil...

If it's an aftermarket item, just flick it from 4 to 2cyl
then it should read right.
If it has a coil pack, it's because you have to wire in both sides of it, and you need a coulpe of recitifier diodes some resitors and bits an dbobs, as it's aftermarket, just swap no of cylinders till it reads right
